Allow customers to give techs digital tips
Many customers have asked about the ability to add tips on line. With people carrying less cash this makes sense.

David C in DCThere’s already a way to claim Jobs on the job board via website & text. That said, the process is opaque and typically results in nothing, Jobs show up on the job board after they’re already claimed. No ability to get relevant details on a job to determine whether you really want it or not. Why spend one moment of time importing all that into the tech app? seems to me A better use of time would be spent fixing what you’ve already got so it’s useful via the website and text messages…

Gregory BrinsonTipping workers through apps and other online services like fivver is old technology. I would like to receive my tips in bitcoins.

Hank GalloHaving an "add gratuity" button would make sense and not put pressure on a client to use it.

Damon BerndTips should NOT be part of the platform or the app. A tech should not expect a tip for doing the job nor the customer feel that tipping is necessary. Also, any tips made through the platform will (by law) be recorded and taxed . If the customer wants to tip and they don't have cash they can easily send money to the tech through PayPal friends and family and all techs already have an account.

Shaun GeerBeyond this, having a tipping screen in the app would help normalize tipping

AndrewI’m happy to give my Venmo or PayPal/cash app info for this. Allowing HelloTech control over my cookie jar isn’t really something I’m interested in, but it would be convenient for a few clients.

StephenNot a good idea to have this added. Getting taxed on tips isn’t desirable. If a customer has ever offered me a tip and has cash, that’s perfect. PayPal or similar are great.

AaronA tip should never be expected. We accept jobs based on the agreed rate. However, I do think the language on the FAQ for clients, which currently says that tips aren’t required, should be amended to include something along the lines of “However, should you receive exemplary service, you may tip your technician at your discretion.” While I understand that clients can’t and shouldn’t be *required* to tip, they also shouldn’t be discouraged from doing so if they want to.
